What certificates are avaialble to certify the status of a company in the Cayman Islands?

A Certificate of Incorporation is issued to the company upon incorporation in the Cayman Islands, confirming that the company was registered upon its establishment under the Cayman Islands Companies Law.

A Certificate of Incumbency confirms when the company was incorporated and current structure, registered office address and details of directors and shareholders.

A Certificate of Good Standing confirms that the company is duly organised under the laws of the Cayman Islands and that it is in good standing for the current year in terms of annual filing obligations.

A Company Search Report confirms the current status of the company (Active, strike-off pending, struck-off or dissolved), but does not confirm that the company is in Good Standing. The Search Report also includes basic details about the company, including: entity name and type (Limited Liability Company, Exempt Company etc.), date of registration, address of registered office, share capital, business nature.
