Certified translations into French

Sworn translations from foreign languages into French can generally be certified in France, Canada, Switzerland and Belgium. If a translation is certified abroad, it may also be necessary to legalize the translation in the country of issue (for example with an Apostille Stamp or at the embassy or consulate).

Certified translations from French

Sworn translations can be certified in the country where they are to be submitted or in the country where they originate. For example, if a document in French needs to be translated into Portuguese or Italian for submission to authorities in Portugal or Italy:

  • A certified translation can normally be done in Portugal or Italy.
  • Alternatively, a translation from French can be certified in France, Canada or Switzerland. However, the translation will often need to be legalized as well (an additional procedure that authenticates a document or translation for international use).
  • Certified French translations required for submission to foreign embassies and consulates in France, Canada or Switzerland may also require legalization or an Apostille Stamp, or embassies may have their own list of local authorized translators.

If you have French documents that require certified translation, or documents in any other language that you need translated into French, please contact us for a quote. We will get back to you promptly with a quotation and details of the procedure:

Apostille and Legalization Services

A certified French translation only provides legal assurance that the translation is true and accurate; it does not confirm the authenticity of the original document.

When submitting foreign documents for legal purposes, e.g. immigration procedures, court cases or visa applications, it is generally necessary to first legalize the original document. Depending on the country of issue, this can be done with an Apostille Stamp or at the embassy of the recipient country.

Cross-border document attestation

Isarey works with local certification specialists, law firms and notaries in over 100 countries to legalize documents for valid use in France - Canada - Belgium - Switzerland - Algeria - Seychelles

We also arrange authentication of all types of documents in France, Canada, Switzerland and Belgium for legal use abroad, including identity documents, birth, marriage and death certificates, criminal record certificates, academic diplomas, company documents and court papers.

Isarey takes care of the entire certification process from start to finish, ensuring that each process is completed efficiently and securely. Our in-country certification agents will ensure compliance with applicable rules and procedures, working with certified French translators, local notaries, government offices and embassies as required.
