Certified translations into German
Sworn translations from foreign languages into German can generally be certified in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg. If a translation is certified abroad, it may also be necessary to legalize the translation in the country of issue (for example with an Apostille Stamp or at the embassy or consulate).
Certified translations from German
Sworn translations can be certified in the country where they are to be submitted or in the country where they originate. For example, if a document in German needs to be translated into Italian or French for submission to authorities in Italy or France:
- A certified translation can normally be done in Italy or France.
- Alternatively, a translation from German can be certified in Germany, Switzerland or Austria. However, the translation will often need to be legalized as well (an additional procedure that authenticates a document or translation for international use).
- Certified German translations required for submission to foreign embassies and consulates in Germany, Switzerland or Austria may also require legalization or an Apostille Stamp, or embassies may have their own list of local authorized translators.
If you have German documents that require certified translation, or documents in any other language that you need translated into German, please contact us for a quote. We will get back to you promptly with a quotation and details of the procedure:
